As the Philippines marks its 126th Independence Day, thousands of Filipinos will have the opportunity to celebrate freedom in a meaningful way—by securing jobs, gaining new skills, and opening doors to brighter futures.

SM and DOLE Launch Massive Independence Day Job Fair Nationwide

On June 12, SM Supermalls, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), will simultaneously hold Araw ng Kalayaan Job Fairs across 21 SM malls nationwide, bringing together employers, government agencies, and jobseekers in one of the country’s largest coordinated hiring events.

The initiative highlights the enduring partnership between SM and DOLE in making employment opportunities more accessible to Filipinos, particularly fresh graduates, first-time job seekers, career shifters, and professionals seeking new opportunities.

Building Careers, Strengthening Communities

The impact of the SM-DOLE collaboration continues to grow.

During the Labor Day Job Fairs held on May 1, more than 17,000 jobseekers participated across 15 SM venues nationwide, resulting in over 1,000 hired-on-the-spot (HOTS) applicants.

From January to May 2024 alone, the partnership successfully mounted 66 job fairs, serving over 57,000 jobseekers and generating more than 6,000 immediate hires, underscoring the initiative’s role as a powerful platform for employment generation and economic inclusion.
