So, after what seems like a lifetime of absolute unwavering loyalty, we read in the letters page of the YEP, without a hint of humility or apology for the support given to the protectors of wealth and privilege at the expense of poorer members of society and as the biggest cheerleader of scrapping the rights of working class people, the most hypocritical defection from the Tories possible.

I have always thought that Mr Nicholson must have been related to Thatcher in the way he has always displayed his unconditional support for her. Time after time he has celebrated on the YEP letters page his adoration for the person responsible for selling off our service industries and starting the gradual decline of our industrial and manufacturing companies.
