RUGBY legend Shane Williams smashed another Ironman event in Tenby over the weekend, as he continues to showcase his impressive post-retirement fitness.

- TOM COLEMAN Sport reporter tom.coleman@reachplc.com

The 48-year-old completed the gruelling course, which features a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and a full marathon, in a time of 11 hours, 55 minutes and 42 seconds.

The time placed Williams 29th out of 187 in the Male 45-49 age group, and 235th out of 1,533 overall among all male competitors.

It wasn't quite as good as last year's effort, which saw him clock in at 11 hours 31 minutes, but Williams said he was still pleased with his efforts at the finish line as he was cheered on by thousands of fans on the streets of Tenby.
