Teenager used car 'as weapon' to mow man down in front of families
Western Mail
|December 13, 2025
VIDEO has captured the moment a teenager used his car “as a weapon” and mowed down a man in front of horrified onlookers.
Thomas Baker, from Gwynedd, had been involved in an altercation with the victim outside a high-street cafe before he returned to his car and ran him over.
‘The victim “flew” through the air during the “revenge” attack, before being left unconscious on the pavement with a serious head injury.
‘The incident occurred after Baker had a lunchtime confrontation with two men outside a cafe in Bethesda in August. A brawl broke out and Baker, 19, left - but then returned with another man. One of two people involved in the earlier fight threw an ashtray at Baker's windscreen, smashing it.
Baker drove off before returning and hitting David Thomas with his car.
Baker admitted a wounding charge and dangerous driving and other motoring offences.
‘A judge at Caernarfon Crown Court sent him to a Young Offenders Institution for 40 months.
