Mother-of-two dies days after partner found dead

Zoe Marie Dixon, 35, died in hospital six days after the horrific attack at the family’s semi-detached home in Merthyr Tydfil shortly after midnight on June 16.

It has been reported that her partner Nathan Thomas, 39, carried out the assault before fleeing the scene. His body was discovered four hours later at Pontsticill Reservoir in the Brecon Beacons.

A family friend said: “It's the most dreadful scenario and everyone is thinking about the youngsters who lost their mam and dad in a moment of madness.

“They are part of a loving family who will do their best to bring them up but it’s going to be hard for them at those ages.”
