West-born Ethel now world's oldest person

A 115-YEAR-OLD British woman who is now thought to be the oldest person in the world grew up in Wiltshire.
Ethel Caterham, who lives in Surrey, has the distinction after the death of Brazilian woman Inah Canabarro Lucas - who was 116 - on Wednesday, the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) said.
Ms Caterham was born on August 21, 1909, in Shipton Bellinger, Hampshire, five years before the start of the First World War, as the second youngest of eight siblings.
According to the BBC she grew up in Wiltshire, near Tidworth.
