Strategy shifting in e-commerce logistics
Vietnam Investment Review
|April 27, 2026
Vietnam's e-commerce logistics market is entering the consolidation phase with the partnership of major players and the withdrawal of independent couriers.
Many players in e-commerce are ceasing one type of service and moving into another
Last week, Federal Express Corporation and Viettel Post announced a strategic collaboration in Vietnam covering nationwide pickup and delivery operations and strengthening cross-border logistics connectivity. The integration of the FedEx global logistics operating network with Viettel Post's domestic logistics infrastructure aims to create a seamless end-to-end supply chain.
Under the collaboration, FedEx will leverage Viettel Post's extensive nationwide coverage, robust fleet, and established local infrastructure to better serve customers in Vietnam's fast-growing trade and e-commerce market. Viettel Post will undertake key operational roles including end-to-end pickup and delivery, warehouse operations, and customs clearance coordination to enable more efficient, synchronised, and reliable cross-border logistics flows.
The collaboration builds on FedEx's transition to a direct serve operating model in Vietnam in June 2025, underscoring the company's continued investment in local infrastructure, talent development, and collaboration with national champions.
