Votes for 16-yr-olds: What teachers think

THEY are arguably the best judge on 16-year-olds getting the vote but teachers are split on the issue depending on their age.
Overall 47% are in favour, while 38% disagree and 15% are neutral.
The poll of 9,626 staff showed a marked difference in opinion depending on the age group of teachers.
Those in their 20s were the most in favour - 51% compared to 35% against.
Thirty-somethings were behind it 49% to 35% while those in their 40s supported the plan by 45% to 39%.
The over-50s were the only age group against the decisionby 44% to 43%.
A quarter of older teachers said they were strongly against.
