Billionaire Elon Musk made headlines on Friday with a rare and high-stakes meeting at the Pentagon, where he discussed innovation and efficiency with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Musk, whose companies hold several Pentagon contracts, also voiced strong disapproval of recent media leaks, calling for the prosecution of Defense Department officials responsible for allegedly leaking "maliciously false" information regarding his visit.
The 80-minute meeting between Musk and Hegseth was the first of its kind and focused on improving Pentagon operations, though questions arose over whether U.S. generals participated virtually. The meeting followed a New York Times report that suggested Musk would be briefed on secret U.S. war plans related to China—a claim both Musk and President Donald Trump denied. Musk condemned the report as "pure propaganda" and demanded legal action against those responsible for the leaks, stating on social media, "I look forward to the prosecutions of those at the Pentagon who are leaking maliciously false information."
