No memorial to be held for Barbie Hsu
The Straits Times
|February 07, 2025
The remains of late Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, who died on Feb 2 at the age of 48 due to pneumonia while on holiday in Japan, have returned to Taiwan, but there will be no memorial service.
Hsu's younger sister, famed TV host Dee Hsu, 46, said the family will not be holding one for the Meteor Garden (2001) star, popularly known by her stage name Big S.
In a press statement sent on Feb 5 via her manager, she said: "Thank you to members of the media who have been awaiting Barbie's return in such cold weather. She has made it home safely. I believe she is happy and carefree in heaven now.
"We will not be holding a memorial service for Barbie since she always liked to keep a low profile. If you miss her, keep her in your heart. Our whole family thanks you for the love you have for Barbie."
