Retail liquor shops in Jharkhand to operate under new rules from 1 Sept

The Jharkhand government has notified the implementation of the "Jharkhand Utpaad (Licensing and Operation of Retail Liquor Shops) Rules, 2025," marking a significant policy shift in the retail sale of liquor across the state.
The notification, issued by the Excise and Prohibition Department under Rule 3(iii) of the new framework, states that the rules come into immediate effect, with full operationalisation from 1 September 2025.
