Poetry, music and dancing at new festival
THE first Fenton Folk Day is taking place across the town on Saturday.
Only the events taking place in the ballroom at Fenton Town Hall are ticketed with all others free to attend.
Workshops, morris dancing, singarounds and storytelling have been lined up from 11am until 11.30pm.
The event has been organised by the Potteries Folk Club - which is based at Fenton Town Hall - and will also help to mark the city's centenary.
Starting off at 11am in Albert Square outside Fenton Town Hall, there will be morris dancers featuring Doomsday Morris, Leek Morris and Green Man Morris.
They will return at various times.
At the same time, workshops for children and songwriters will be held in the lounge (normally café) of Fenton Christ Church and Ye Olde Manor Inn respectively.
