Families fear for homes every time it pours down
FAMILIES are calling for action to stop their road from repeatedly flooding.
Residents in Friarswood Road, Newcastle, say, since January, the street has flooded every time there is a heavy downpour.
They have to put sandbags in front of their gates to stop water reaching their front doors. But the water has entered their cellars, causing damp, and has gushed through the ginnels between their terrace properties.
They have contacted Staffordshire County Council, Newcastle Borough Council and Severn Trent. Workmen have been and carried out work but the problem still exists.
The road flooded again due to the torrential rain on Saturday but the water had subsided by Sunday morning.
