THE Odisha Government is preparing to launch its final Information Technology (IT) policy, featuring major revisions aimed at strengthening the state’s electronics and IT manufacturing ecosystem.
The updated policy will include a revamped rebate system and research-based financial incentives of up to Rs 5 crore.
The proposed policy changes were shared during a stakeholder workshop titled “Odisha’s Facilitation: An Inspiration towards Achieving ESDM Goals,” held in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. The event witnessed active participation from industry representatives and senior officials from the Electronics and IT (E&IT) Department, who engaged in detailed discussions on current challenges, policy updates, and future initiatives.
E&IT Department Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev opened the session by stressing the importance of creating a holistic environment to attract sustained investment. “The purpose of this meeting is to inform you about the upcoming amendments in the electronics policy. While incentives are important, they alone are not enough to attract investors,” he said. “A strong and broad ecosystem is essential to reap the benefits of any policy.”
