Logistics costs in the Philippines are among the highest in Southeast Asia, and global economic uncertainty poses a significant challenge to the country's supply chain. To mitigate these risks, both the public and private sectors must focus on improving the supply chain, reducing friction costs, and implementing digital tracking systems and smart logistics tools.

"A slowdown in global economic growth could also weigh on some logistics businesses globally and locally, it is a potential headwind," Ricafort said.

To mitigate the impact of these risks, logistics giant DP World said the public and private sectors have to focus efforts on improving the supply chain in the Philippines this year.
