The Quezon City government has established a blended learning program that will enable public schools to ensure learning continuity amid problems such as classroom shortage and frequent class suspensions.

- —Janvic Mateo

The ordinance, recently signed by Mayor Joy Belmonte, is seen as a response to challenges facing the education sector, including overcrowding and suspension of face-to-face classes due to typhoons and extreme heat.

Belmonte said the ordinance institutionalizes the flexible learning policy earlier introduced by the Department of Education (DepEd).

"Quezon City is turning national guidance into real action," she said. "We are investing in our schools so that learning doesn't stop."
