No quota arrests in PNP — Nartatez

There are no quota arrests in the Philippine National Police, acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. assured the public yesterday, saying he is pushing for intelligence-driven operations against suspected criminals.

Nartatez issued the statement after detainee rights group Kapatid urged him to cancel the quota arrests directive of his predecessor, former PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III.
