House to recuse if lawmakers named in tri-comm hearing

Members of the House of Representatives tri-committee will immediately recuse from the investigation on questionable flood control projects if ever congressmen and senators are officially implicated during the hearing, Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon said yesterday.

Ridon, who will lead the tri-comm as chairman of the House committee on public accounts, said they are still waiting for plenary approval to start investigation into the flood control project anomalies.

The committees on good government and public works make up the other two members of the tri-comm.

"We have already addressed the concerns of the people. I think as early as last week, we have already mentioned that in the event that in the course of the inquiry, there are congressmen or senators named as involved in this anomaly, we will give them the right to reply during the proceedings," Ridon told radio dzMM.
