AIIMS Jammu performs Ist Cochlear Implant Surgery

The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu has achieved a major healthcare milestone by successfully performing its first cochlear implant surgery, marking a significant advancement in specialised ENT and hearing-care services in the region.
The landmark procedure was carried out under the leadership of Prof. (Dr) Shakti Kumar Gupta, Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS Jammu, as part of the institute’s efforts to strengthen tertiary-level clinical care. The surgery was performed by the ENT team led by Dr Darwin Kaushal, Additional Professor and Head, along with Dr Amardeep Singh, Dr Youshita, Dr Gunjan, and Audiologist Nityansh Saluja, ensuring coordinated surgical and audio
