THE tax department has recently notified the Income Tax Return (ITR) forms for the Assessment Year 2025-26, which corresponds to the financial year 2024-25. While the forms largely retain their previous structure, some notable changes have been introduced, particularly concerning the reporting of long-term capital gains (LTCG) and the threshold for disclosing assets and liabilities. Individual taxpayers should familiarise themselves with these updates to ensure accurate and timely filing.
