Soldier killed in gunfight with terrorists along LoC, infiltration attempt foiled

AN army jawan, Havildar Ankit Kumar from Bhagalpur, Bihar, was killed while foiling an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector, Jammu and Kashmir during the preceding night.
The army detected terrorists trying to infiltrate in the Churunda area of Uri. A fierce gunfight broke out, after which the terrorists retreated across the LoC. A massive search operation was launched using drones, helicopters, and other surveillance tools to ensure no terrorists crossed over.
