INDIAN shuttlers will be hoping for an improved performance when they take on Indonesia in their second match of the ongoing BWF Sudriman Cup — a mixed team competition — in Xiamen, China.
The opening-match defeat against Denmark has left them on a slippery slope. With just two teams advancing to the next stage from Group D, the shuttlers have to conjure some magic when they face their Indonesian counterparts today. Given the absence of some key players like Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, the defeat was not a surprise. However, the big players — PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy — inability to get the desired results is concerning.
