Soren Says Will Conduct Caste Census in Next Financial Year

THE Jharkhand government plans to conduct a caste-based survey in the next financial year, Transport, Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Deepak Birua informed the state Assembly on Monday in response to a question raised by Congress MLA Pradeep Yadav.
Birua said the personnel department has been appointed as the nodal agency for the survey. He added that the department had issued a notice on March 4 to engage an agency so that the total number of people required, levels of the tasks and the financial aspects of the exercise could be ascertained.
