Rahul Moves HC, Seeking Cancellation of NBW in Shah Defamation Case
The New Indian Express Vellore
|June 03, 2025
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has approached the Jharkhand High Court seeking quashing of the non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued against him by a Special MP-MLA Court in Chaibasa in a case related to his alleged derogatory remarks against then-BJP President Amit Shah.
The court in Chaibasa issued the warrant on May 22, directing him to appear before it in person on June 26. Gandhi's petition argued that it was unfair of the Chaibasa court to issue the warrant when his petition for exemption from his appearance was still pending in the Jharkhand High Court.
