The Government Junior Lecturers' Association has demanded action against the alleged irregularities in the promotion of 197 junior lecturers to principals in the Intermediate Education Department during the tenure of the previous government.

The promotions, which were issued on March 15, a day before the election code of conduct came into effect, were marred by corruption, Association President Guruvayya and Secretary Muralidhar claimed in a statement.
