'Constitution Day must be celebrated in schools': Modi hails right to vote

PRIME Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday underscored the responsibility of strengthening India's democracy by exercising the right to vote, saying that Constitution Day should also be observed in schools and colleges by celebrating young people turning 18.
In an open letter on Constitution Day on Wednesday, Modi urged citizens to fulfil their constitutional duties, calling these duties "the foundation of a strong democracy." He recalled Mahatma Gandhi's belief that rights emerge from the performance of duties, saying that living by this principle supports both social and economic progress.
