Bridge to enhance connectivity between coastal regions in Kaipamangalam and Vypeen
The construction of the Azhikode-Munambam bridge reached a crucial stage with the beginning of the installation of segment box girders, that would complete the basic structure. It is the first time in Kerala that a bridge is being constructed with a segment box girder.
A bridge connecting the coastal regions in Thrissur and Ernakulam districts has been a long-pending dream of both residents. Earlier, a boat service was available for daily commute which stopped during the Covid lockdown due to the boat's questionable strength.
