State Offers Lifeline to Landslide Survivors

A YEAR after the Chooralmala-Mundakkai landslide devastated hundreds of families, the state government is now taking concrete steps to help survivors rebuild their lives—this time through entrepreneurship and employment.
One of its ambitious efforts is a ₹100-crore business complex, proposed exclusively for landslide survivors. The facility, which will be owned by the government, will offer rent-free spaces for survivors to start their own trades. Moreover, the survivors will be given the freedom to choose the location of their business units based on feasibility and preference.
