While Congress and BJP fight over the naming of the 2.1 km road stretch between Sri Lakshmi Vekataramanaswamy Temple Circle and Royal Inn Junction at Metagalli after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, historian P V Nanjaraja Urs, who had stopped MUDA (then City Improvement Trust Board) from renaming Vani Vilas Road (named after Maharani Kempa Nanjammanni Vani Vilasa Sannidhana, the mother of Maharaja Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar) after Mahatma Gandhi by approaching the High Court, has decided to take up a legal battle against Mysuru City Corporation's decision to rename the road as 'Siddaramaiah Arogya Marga'.
