SC asks why cracker ban limited to Delhi-NCR; seeks pan-India policy

IF clean air was a right for "elite" residents of the Delhi-NCR, the same must extend to citizens across the country, the Supreme Court observed on Friday.
The court was hearing pleas filed by noted environmentalist, M C Mehta, besides several others in connection with air pollution in Delhi-NCR and regulation or complete ban of fire-crackers in the region. The SC expressed the need to explore a pan-India ban on firecrackers.
