6 Punjabis Held in $48-Million Drug Seizure in Canada

SIX Indo-Canadians of Punjabi origin are among nine people Canadian Police have arrested in the largest drug seizure of 479 kilos of bricked cocaine worth $47.9 million.
With this, a year-long investigation led to the dismantling of a transnational organized criminal network trafficking illicit drugs into the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Peel Regional Police stated they worked with national and international partners to expose the network. The probe exercise, called Project Pelican, marks the largest drug seizure in the service's history.
