Otto Konigsberger, the German-Indian architect and urban planner, significantly influenced the modern landscape of India through his visionary approach to city planning.

His journey in India began in 1939 when he was invited to serve as the chief architect and planner for Mysore state, marking the start of a transformative era where he devoted over a decade to shape urban spaces across the country.
Upon arriving in India, Konigsberger quickly adjusted to the challenges posed by designing for a tropical climate and a society transitioning through both pre- and post-Independence phases. His projects included significant contributions to the Indian Institute of Science, partial development of Jamshedpur for Tata Steel, and TIFR Colaba campus, which showcased his adeptness in merging functionality with regional context.
