The miscreants, who torched Lakshmeshwar police station eight years ago, finally got punishment. Gadag Additional District and Sessions Court awarded punishment to 23 convicted on Monday.
The main convicted were sentenced to five years of imprisonment and imposed Rs 5 lakh fine while others got five years of imprisonment and Rs 1 lakh fine. The incident happened on February 5, 2017. A group of people set ablaze Lakshmeshwar police station alleging the custodial death of a truck driver.
