Farmers oppose SIPCOT park, urge govt to withdraw plan

HUNDREDS of farmers from Mettuvavi in Kinathukadavu gathered at the Coimbatore collectorate on Friday morning, urging the government to withdraw the proposed plan to establish a SIPCOT industrial park in the village.
Accompanied by AIADMK Sulur MLA V P Kandasamy and Pollachi MLA V Jayaraman, they submitted a petition to Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati in the farmers' grievance meeting.
