Gujarat on alert, emergency services ramped up

A high alert was sounded in Gujarat as tensions escalated between India and Pakistan, prompting an emergency response from state authorities.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday convened a high-level review meeting with senior secretaries, district administrators, and police chiefs in Gandhinagar, and formulated an aggressive security strategy in response to the volatile situation. Soon after the meeting, security grids were fortified across the state's border villages, while Bhuj Airport was swiftly transferred to the Army to tighten defence readiness.
