Work in coordination to ensure drain flow is not affected: H&UD minister

HOUSING and Urban Development minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra on Tuesday reviewed the drainage system of the capital city and its ongoing desilting work to ensure citizens do not face any inconvenience during heavy rains.

Speaking to mediapersons, Mahapatra said, "As the India Meteorological Department has predicted above normal monsoon rains this year, we are reviewing the functioning of the drainage system in various cities of the state." In the state capital, he said all departments should work in coordination to ensure the drain flow is not affected and there is no overflowing of waste water during the monsoon season.
