India's Natural Gas Output, Consumption Fall in May

The country's natural gas sector witnessed a dip across several key metrics in May 2025, according to data released by the Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell (PPAC).
Gross production of natural gas for the month stood at 2,979 million metric standard cubic meters (MMSCM), marking a 4.0% decline compared to the same period last year.
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) imports also saw a significant drop. Total LNG imports in May 2025 (provisional) amounted to 2,977 MMSCM, which is 15.3% lower than imports recorded in May 2024.
