PUBLIC sector lender Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Wednesday reported a 52% jump in net income at ₹4,567 crore for the March quarter, driven by asset quality improvement leading to a massive drop in bad loan provisions.
The bank had reported ₹3,010 crore net profit in the same period last financial year. Bad loan provisions fell to ₹588.31 crore from ₹1,958 crore.
The New Delhi-based bank said in a statement on Wednesday that for the full year, its net profit more than doubled to ₹16,630 crore, a growth of 101.7% YoY over the previous financial year.
