MahaYuti Maha cracks widen as BJP, NCP agree to disagree on corruption

IN an indication of widening rift ahead of the January 15 civic body polls in Maharashtra, NCP leader Ajit Pawar attacked the BJP calling it the most corrupt party, inviting a sharp reaction from the Maha Yuti principal ally.
BJP leader and minister Ashish Shelar said on Tuesday that if Deputy CM Ajit Pawar wants to remain in Maha Yuti, then he cannot level corruption allegations against the BJP. "If Ajit continues to accuse BJP of corruption, then we will expose the NCP leader," Shelar said.
The rift entered the ideological domain as well. BJP has asked Ajit Pawar to accept the ideology of Hindutva ideologue VD Savarkar, triggering a reaction from the NCP which underlined its commitment to Ambedkarite ideology.
