In 10 yrs, dengue death cases jump 627%, hypertension deaths up 109%

DESPITE the tall claims by the city government and civic bodies, the fight against dengue remains ineffective on the ground.
In the last one decade, dengue deaths have seen a jump of staggering 627%, with 74 fatalities reported in 2024 to 538 in 2024, according to the latest births & deaths registration data by the Delhi government.
The data, analysed by the NGO Praja Foundation, revealed a troubling picture of mortality graph in Delhi. Just within a gap of a year—between 2022 and 2023—the total number of deaths in Delhi increased by 9%, rising from 81,630 to 88,628.
