End The Culture Of Adjournments In Courts, Reduce Case Delays: Murmu

CALLING for a change in the 'culture of adjournments' in courts, President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday said inordinate delays in judicial decisions in heinous crimes such as rape may give the impression that judiciary lacks sensitivity.

"Many people cannot even imagine the suffering that poor people face due to the culture of adjournments. Every possible measure should be taken to change this situation," she said at the valedictory session of the two-day National Conference of District Judiciary.
