Centre orders NIA probe into activist killing

THE Union government has ordered a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the murder of rowdy-sheeter and Hindutva activist Suhas Shetty.

This is seen as a setback to the Congress government which had refused to hand over the case to the central agency, saying the state police are competent enough to investigate it.
