A FORMER Shields ferry has made its screen debut after it was spotted in an episode of a hit ITV crime drama.

The Shieldsman - now a houseboat at Shoreham-by-Sea on the south coast of England - appeared in last Sunday's season finale of Grace.

The vessel featured in a scene where Brighton-based detective superintendent Roy Grace, played by John Simm, searches for a suspect in a major drug investigation.
