DUST off those hats and suits, Plate Day is almost upon us and thousands of well dressed ladies and gents soon will be making their way to Newcastle Racecourse for their annual dose of racing, wining and dining.
The much-loved finale to the three-day Northumberland Plate Festival will take place on Saturday and it's set to be spectacular.
Like Ladies Day in July, the Plate is a sporting and social highlight of the summer at Gosforth Park and Newcastle race-goers no doubt have been planning their outfits for weeks. The annual treat is always packed with entertainment and adding to the programme this June 28 will be an end-of-day ABBA Revival performance to keep the party going.
