Newly renovated sanitary facilities at Colombo Central Bus Stand vandalised again

Sanitary facilities, at the newly renovated Colombo Central Bus Stand, has been vandalised again, with Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways M.M. Prasanna Kumara Gunasena saying it could be the result of organised activity.

Following an inspection visit to the facility, the Deputy Minister said the damage could be attributed either to public misuse due to lack of awareness or familiarity with the upgraded premises, or due to deliberate acts of vandalism.
However, he noted that the removal of five water taps, specifically from female toilets, suggested coordination rather than random damage.
"This appears to be an organised activity. Such actions could be carried out by a group with the intention of gaining political advantage," Gunasena said.
