Nato chief warns of tactical strikes by Putin to help Xi

Russian president Vladimir Putin would help China invade Taiwan by attacking a nation in Nato in order to distract Europe, the alliance’s secretary general Mark Rutte has warned.
The former Netherlands PM was answering a question on the defence commitments of US president Donald Trump, especially to the world and in the Indo-Pacific, at a time when the Republican leader has pursued an “America First” policy.
