Ale lovers raise glass to 'best rural boozer'

REAL ale enthusiasts have heaped praise on a pub on the edge of moorland near the M62.

The Lower Royal George at Scammonden, near Huddersfield, has been named Rural Pub of the Year by the local Huddersfield and District Campaign for Real Ale (Camra).

The New Hey Road pub is famed for its homecooked food, cask ale and the views across the Scammonden reservoir beside the busy M62.
