PILGRIMS FACE 'BEAUTIFUL CHALLENGE' AS ARNE SLOT'S PREMIER LEAGUE LEADERS VISIT IN FA CUP FOURTH ROUND
PLYMOUTH Argyle's fight for Championship survival is not far from the mind of Miron Muslic even ahead of the high-profile Emirates FA Cup fourth round clash against Liverpool at Home Park tomorrow.
Anticipation is high among the Green Army, especially the lucky ones with tickets for the sold-out tie.
It has been the talk of the city all week. Muslic has called the Premier League leaders and Carabao Cup finalists as 'the best team in the world' and has described playing them as 'a beautiful challenge! However, while the FA Cup clash is a great opportunity to take on mighty Liverpool, Muslic is very mindful of the fact the relegation-threatened Pilgrims have an important Championship match against Millwall at the Theatre of Greens next Wednesday and 'the right balance' has to be found between the two games.
Liverpool booked their place in the Carabao Cup final with a 4-0 semifinal second leg victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Thursday night, for a 4-1 aggregate success overall.
While the team that their Dutch boss Arne Slot selects to play Argyle is unlikely to be as strong as it was against an outclassed Spurs, it will still contain world-class talent such is the strength in depth of their squad.
Muslic said: "A beautiful challenge in front of us. I think a day to enjoy for us as Argyle. A day to enjoy also for the Green Army. It's not usual you have the best team in the world, and they are if you can dominate the Premier League like they are doing, and if you can dominate the Champions League like they are doing.
