SCHUMACHER OFFERS INJURY UPDATE AHEAD OF VITAL LEAGUE ONE GAME AT MORECAMBE

- CHRIS ERRINGTON

RANDELL BOOST

MIDFIELDER Adam Randell completed his first full-contact training session yesterday after an ankle injury as Plymouth Argyle geared up for their League One game away to Morecambe on Good Friday.

The 22-year-old academy product is unlikely to be involved against Morecambe given he has been out for two months and manager Steven Schumacher has Matt Butcher, Jordan Houghton and Jay Matete all available to play in Randell's position.

However, at the start of a sequence of eight games in 31 days to end the regular season, just having Randell so close to a return to action is a timely boost for the Pilgrims.

Randell had been having a fine season until he suffered a high ankle g sprain during the 3-1 win against Portsmouth at Home Park on February 11.

Schumacher said: "Rands is doing well. He was in full contact with the players today, his first full day. It was so good to have him back.

"He did a little bit yesterday, a bit of passing and whatever, with the academy lads. He's obviously a brilliant example for all of them young play- ers coming in that this is what it looks like to get into the first team.

"He trained full contact this morneing and looked okay. He has been out for a little while though so it's going to take him a bit of time to get up to speed.
