McPhee delighted with 'vital' three points

PLYMOUTH Parkway left it late to give Norwich City-bound Dylan Jones an eventful send-off with a deserved 2-1 win over Chertsey Town, despite losing boss Chris McPhee to a controversially red card.

McPhee delighted with 'vital' three points

The 41-year-old was shown a straight red for allegedly 'smashing the ball at the lines-man' despite not being involved in the situation.

Despite the major error of judgement from the officials, Parkway were able to seal victory late on thanks to a 91st minute winner from Tylor Love-Holmes after captain Shane White had opened the scoring from the penalty spot.

Speaking after the game, McPhee said: "It was a very, very tricky game for 100 different reasons."

"I mean my sending off is very odd. The ball goes out for a corner, we lose the ball, Stuart Dudley picks up a ball and throws it towards that direction and it somehow hit the linesman - I mean he's never thrown the ball accurately in his life, so he's never done it on purpose.

"The linesman turned around and assumed that I've smashed the ball at him. So he's told the referee, and the referee sends me off. Duds has told him that it was him, that he's pursued to go off his lines-man.

"It's just one of those where I'm going to look back at it and laugh because it's just one of those things that's completely crazy.
